QTBIPOC Backcountry Camp
In March 2023 we offered a a 3 day backcountry camp for 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC community members. This included local and regional participants.
We hosted 14 participants at Revelstoke Mountain Resort and focused on expanding on touring and mountaineering skills for QTBIPOC skiers and boarders, 16 years +. This including avalanche rescue skills, uphill route planning, basic rope skills and powder skiing coaching.
Backcountry equipment and touring gear were provided by our partners Avalanche Canada and Revelstoke Powder Rentals, along with two guides whose time was donated by Selkirk Tangiers.
