Mountain Pride 2024

JUNE 22ND 2024 - REVELSTOKE, BC

Testimonials

Every avalanche course should feel like this. Feeling safe and welcomed. All the guides and instructors were very good at being open and compassionate in the ways they taught and spoke. It gives me hope for allyship in mountain spaces.

Why does inclusive

culture matter in mountain towns?

Research has shown that increasing racial or ethnic diversity in rural communities can increase overall levels of social solidarity.

Inclusivity is connected to better leadership. Our community needs to attract and sustain an inclusive and diverse group of people living here to provide innovative leaders for our shared future.

Our Programs

We currently provide winter and summer programs to youth and adults, prioritizing people with multiple intersecting marginalized identities.

What we are doing:

  • Running programming that allows everyone in the community to participate in mountain sports, currently focusing on 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC programs;

  • Maintaining a gear library;

  • Subsidizing educational programs;

  • Fostering inclusive mountain culture.
